Citrus flavors are very present in the initial tastes of the beer. I would say it is bias to grapefruit. In the finish, a little bit of the malt shows through in the flavors. The color is likely somewhere between 11 and 14 on the SRM scale.

Yellowhammer Brewery’s Miracle Worker Tripel pours up with a nice head as the photo shows that fades to small head that holds on for a while. The Delirium tremens glass takes away from the experience, but what can you say to a bar back at a Mellow Mushroom. The yeast presents very well in the nose and continues into the taste in an enjoyable way. The mouth feel starts crisp fading into a sweetness that coats the whole mouth. The tastes are a mixture of sweetness and floral yeast flavors. The color is between 3 and 6 on the SRM.

Yellowhammer Brewery’s UberAlt pours with little head and fades to no lacing and minimal bubbles around edge of the glass. The color is in the 28 to 30 SRM scale. The initial taste is a deep sweet malt flavor that has hints of coffee and dark malts.

Olde Towne Brewing Co. has had call it quits. Their bottle line experienced more troubles and they have had to suspend bottling. Back in December, they let go of the sales personel. Their business manager has just left as well. The brewer, Daniel Stearns, has taken on the role of Operation Manager, but he is actually the only person left. The owner is in the process of having another local brewery take over the facility including a possible lease-purchase.

We are all here at The Nook celebrating Olde Towne and saying good bye to the crew. They was a nice size crowd.

Today was the initial release of their beers.

Both, are very nice. The IPA is the best with hop flavors that hold on to you to the end. The Belgian White Ale has spices that can surprise you, but I enjoyed it.

Here are the brewery’s descriptions:
Belgian White Ale – 4.8% ABV
Wheat ale brewed with fresh ginger and lime leaves.

American IPA – 6.8% ABV
Brewed with four select malts and a blend of Centennial, Columbus, Amarillo and Simcoe hops.

The beers are very good and I look forward Yellowhammer’s future beers.
The whole team was very proud of the beers today and I was glad I got to be a part of the release.

Knickerbocker Red presents with a sweet nose. There is a little woodiness in the nose as well. The initial taste has a sweetness. The hops are very mellow, but they arrive late in the taste and hold on to the finish. The finish is a little alkaline, too.

Blue Pants is the third brewery to open in Huntsville. Initially, Blue Pants will have limited distribution throughout Huntsville.

The beer starts with a good maltiness at the noise. The carbonation provides a little bite to complement the alcohol taste that is very mild in the beer.

The body of the beer hangs on with the malt and doesn’t let go as the beer finishes.

Karen and I are kicking back after a long day at work for me and long of herding cats for her. (I should say cat as in Katie Beth our 1 year old baby.) We are hanging out in Colorado Springs and we are enjoying our time tonight with a couple beers from Judge Baldwin's Brewing.

The Beer Advocate rating for Judge Baldwin's Brewing is way too low. I understand why some people would give a low rating. The beers are of good quality. The prices are super, because they have a daily happy hour with $2 pints and during the week days happy hours starts up again at 9:00PM for $2 pints.

Appetizers are half price during the early happy hour.

Parking is a breeze with valet parking. The staff knows me by name and I am coming in from out of town just on business travel.

My wife is enjoyed the Raspberry Wheat while I am having the Dunkel. Our beers may have been improved by us taking them back to our top floor room with balcony and view of the city and mountains.

Read more about our brews here: http://www.alereview.com/

You just can't beat this place. Bob Archibald is working the taps in the tap room. They have the 2 bucks for any Edge City (EC) beer deal running tonight. I have had the EC Oktoberfest, EC Pale Bock, and EC English Mild, but more are to come.

Mike Bristol (the owner) is here talking to the patrons.

The WiFi is fast so you have your “after workers” here doing the net stuff. Me being one.

Everyone is coming in filling their jugs (growlers) to have beer supplies for the week. Some have required kegs, but we all have our needs.
